NADINE A. CHAMBERS

Nadine A. Chambers, 75, daughter of Hershel and Juanita Hubbs Crum was born Aug. 23, 1939, at Raymondville. She passed away Sunday, June 28, 2015, in her home with her family in Licking.

She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers, Don, Lloyd, Bob and infant Carl; and three sisters; Pearl, Margie and infant Edith.

She is survived by her husband, Glen of Licking; one son, David of St. Clair; two daughters, Danita of Springfield and Tracy of Cabool; one brother, Elbert of Licking; one sister, Alpha of Salt Lake City, Utah; and four grandchildren. She had five extended grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She spent most of her life in Texas County. She attended Split Limb Elementary School and Licking High School. She married Glen, her high school sweetheart, and they were married 56 years. They moved to Fenton, where they spent nine years and had their three children. They later moved back to Licking in 1970 where Nadine worked at the Lee Co. in Houston for six years and then 23 years at Rawlings Sporting Goods at Licking before retiring to care for her mother for several years.

Her greatest joys included watching her children play sports and doing the same for her grandchildren.  She loved her garden and taking care of her flowers. She enjoyed keeping track of husband, whether he was on the four-wheeler or mowing grass. They loved sitting outside in the evenings during the summer and watching the St. Louis Cardinals on TV. Nadine loved cooking for her family and family get-togethers. She loved the simple life at home and never cared to be the center of attention, but was always ready to help and had many friends and family who loved her. She made an impact while touching many lives.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to The Animal Shelter of Texas County, Houston; or Hospice Compassus of Mountain Grove.

The family will conduct a memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 11, at Evans Funeral Home in Houston.  Visitation is 10-11 a.m.  Saturday.

Mrs. Chambers was cremated under direction of Evans Funeral Home.
