•A 49-year-old Houston woman reported July 7 that video game equipment with worth $590 had been stolen from her Chestnut Street residence.
•Dorothy L. Hernandez, 44, of 15151 Highway AA at Bucyrus, was issued a citation for stealing under $500 after allegedly swiping a pair of sunglasses and a bottle of vodka from Walmart on July 23.
•A 39-year-old Houston man came to the HPD station July 7 to report that an 80-year-old Raymondville man had given him a rent check for $950 that was from an account that had been closed for almost three years.
After an investigation, a probable cause statement was sent to the county prosecutor seeking a felony charge of passing bad checks – $500 or more against the suspect.
•Steven R. Parker, 30, of 128 Maple St. in Licking, was issued a citation for stealing under $500 after allegedly swiping an automotive battery from Walmart on July 23.
•Christine M. Stewart, 57, of 250 Forrest Drive in Houston, was issued a citation for trespassing on July 17 after reportedly being on the property of a restaurant after being told by ownership she was not welcome there.
•Matthew J. Ramsey, 28, of 16490 Hog Creek Road at Houston, was issued a citation for stealing under $500 after allegedly swiping a dehumidifier valued at $250 from Orscheln Farm and Home on July 23.
•Roger C. Blanks, 22, of 4998 Highway 17 in Summersville, was issued a citation for stealing under $500 after allegedly shoplifting a bottle of vodka from Walmart on July 22.
•Donald A. Newell, 25, of 5019 Marquis Road in Summersville, was issued a citation for stealing under $500 after allegedly shoplifting a flask from Walmart on July 22.
•Michael K. Barton, 40, and Chad R. Andres, 31, both of HC68 Box 7295 at Hartshorn, were each issued citations for stealing under $500 after allegedly swiping deli food from Walmart on July 11.
•Thaddeus E. Schmutzler, 19, of 6595 Highway 17 in Houston, was issued a citation for stealing under $500 after allegedly swiping grocery items from Walmart on July 18.
•Felica D. Batchelor, 30, of 611 Hawthorne Street in Houston, was issued a citation for stealing under $500 after allegedly swiping four packages of underwear from Walmart on July 10.
•David H. Ward, 34, of 116 Park St. in Houston, was issued a citation for possession of marijuana on July 19.
Ward was cited after an officer responded at about 4:30 a.m. to a report of a man and woman who appeared to be impaired getting into a car with four children in the parking lot at Texas County Memorial Hospital.
