The following are excerpts of reports generated by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department:
•A Licking woman called June 30 to report that renters had moved out of a Shafer Road trailer and left cats behind that she said appeared to be in poor health. An investigating officer stated that before he arrived, the woman called back to report the cats had left.
•A deputy was dispatched at about 8 a.m. June 26 to euthanize a deer in a ditch next to U.S. 63 south of Houston. The officer was unable to locate the animal.
•A woman called at about 12:30 a.m. July 12 to report that she was dealing with an unruly 15 year old at her Mercer Lane residence, and she needed help from a deputy. An officer advised the woman about the county juvenile system.
•A deputy was dispatched at about 12:42 p.m. July 11 regarding a domestic dispute at a Mount Olive Road residence at Mountain View.
A 33-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man who live there told the officer they had gotten into a fight over going fishing with a child. The officer advised them to separate for 12 hours.
•A 51-year-old Houston man called July 10 to report damage done by stray dogs to a Ford pickup at his Forrest Drive residence.
The man showed an investigating officer that the front grill had been torn off the truck and where teeth marks were on metal. He told the officer he was awakened by noise at about 4:30 a.m. and went outside and saw three dogs attacking his truck. He stated the dogs had been in the area for about a year and nobody claims them.
The officer stated that if an owner could be identified, a citation would be issued.
•An 82-year-old Yukon man called July 10 to report that two saws and a pellet gun with a total value of $700 had been stolen from under a camper shell at his Highway 137 residence. There are no suspects.
•Deputies assisted the Missouri State Highway Patrol with a pursuit at about 2:45 p.m. July 10. A suspect on a motorcycle fled to Arthur Road where he was found hiding behind apartments.
•A deputy was dispatched at about 2:10 a.m. July 7 regarding a report of a man lying on the porch of a Mooney Hollow Road residence at Licking.
The officer made contact with a woman who lives there who stated the man had run off down the road. The officer located him, and he stated he had wrecked his car.
The case was turned over to a Missouri State Highway Patrol officer.
•A deputy was dispatched at about 5 a.m. July regarding a report of trespassing at a Tiffany Drive trailer park at Houston. The officer made contact with the man who called in the report and he said the suspect had left. The officer advised him to call again if he returned.
•A deputy on June 20 investigated a report of property damage at a Crane Drive residence at Bucyrus.
A 67-year-old man who lives there showed the officer photos of an orange truck driving on his property and causing large ruts. The man told the officer that a neighbor’s property and some adjacent National Forest land had been similarly damaged.
A man has been identified as a suspected. Investigation of the matter continues.
•A Mountain Grove woman called July 7 to report a neighbor’s pigs were loose and tearing up the yard of her Stone Ridge Road residence. The pigs’ owner was contacted and warned to maintain better control of them.
•A deputy was dispatched July 9 to a convenience store at Roby after a woman reported her husband had “flipped out” on medications and was chasing her.
While the officer was talking to the woman, the husband arrived and stated he wanted her arrested for kidnapping their 5-year-old child. The woman stated the child was at a relative’s house for safekeeping.
The officer advised the man to get an attorney.
