A good crowd saw the field bend metal and ruin paint in a demolition derby last Saturday in the arena at the Houston Area Chamber of Commerce Fairgrounds.
Bolt and chain class winners: Jody Jones, first, Raymondville; Jimmy Jones, second, Raymondville; and Dustin James, third, Houston, who also donated the added money for the first and second places in both classes.
Modified class winners: Zach Quick, first, Salem; Joe Gegg, second, St. Genevieve; and Brandon Wildhaber, third, Houston.
In the power wheels category, each child received a medal. Best paint winner was Dalton Berry, and Heidi Johnson won the hardest hit award. Both are from Rolla. The sponsor was Rinne’s Tire and Service at Licking.
The event was sponsored by the Houston Area Chamber of Commerce. Twisted Metal Promotions help promote and organize the event.
