Marvin Eugene Hill, 80, of Springfield, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2015, in San Antonio, Texas.

He was born Dec. 29, 1934, in Houston, son of George H. and Lovell Minor Hill. He and Marjorie Schiereck were married Sept. 2, 1961, in Rockville.

He was a 1953 graduate of Houston High School. He served in the Army from February 1954-’57.

He owned and operated Marvin’s Skelly Service in El Dorado Springs. He was active in the Lions Club, Rotary Club, El Dorado High School boosters and Chamber of Commerce. He served as chamber president in 1976.

He was an avid golfer and raced stock cars with Leon Steward from 1965-’73.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Mark.

Survivors include his wife, Marjorie of the home; a daughter, Marsha Fewell of San Antonio, Texas; a sister, Lois Simrell of El Dorado Springs; and many other relatives and friends.

Services were Saturday, Aug. 29, 2015, at Bland-Hackleman Chapel with the Rev. Brent Bland officiating. Burial with military honors was in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.
