BREAKING NEWS

An Edgar Springs man was killed Saturday night in a motorcycle accident north of Licking, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

Sgt. George Falterman said Thomas D. Black, 21, was killed when his 1993 Yamaha motorcycle was struck by a truck about five miles north of Licking.

The 9:44 p.m. crash occurred when a southbound 2003 Dodge Ram truck driven by Travis S. Cook, 38, pulled into the path of the northbound motorcycle, Falterman said. Cook was not injured. Black was pronounced dead at the scene by Texas County Coroner Thomas Whittaker.

Both were wearing safety devices. The truck sustained extensive damage, and the motorcycle was totaled.

It’s the third motorcycle fatality in the county in the last week. A Michigan man was killed Thursday afternoon north of Success. A Beulah man was killed Sunday, Aug. 9, north of Raymondville.
