Riley Jefferson Frost, 84, passed away Friday, Aug. 14, 2015, at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach.

He was born March 26, 1931, in Plato, son of son of Jefferson and Manda Deardeuff Frost.

He attended a one-room schoolhouse, Sycamore, near Lynchburg. He worked several jobs in his lifetime. He was at quartermaster laundry at Fort Leonard Wood and at the sawmill in Roby. He then moved to Oregon, where he owned his own trucking company, hauling large amounts of hay all over the state. He moved back to Missouri in 2000.

He loved hunting and gardening. He took pride in his watermelons and cantaloupes.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Alice; two brothers, Tim and William Emery; and two sisters, Ellen and Clella.

Survivors include three daughters, Donna Sue Wasmer of Lebanon, Opal Garner of Morland, Okla., and Arrena Frost of Desoto; seven grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside services Monday, Aug. 17, in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
