Texas County’s unemployment rate increased six-tenths of a percentage point in July from the previous month, the Missouri Department of Economic Development reported.
The figure was 7.8 percent.
The agency said the civilian work force in the county stood at 9,391, which was down 334 from the prior month. Unemployed stood at 728.
Area counties and their unemployment rates were: Douglas, 7.5; Howell, 7.5; Shannon, 8.7; and Wright, 7.2. The average in south-central Missouri was 7.7 percent.
