The Miss Texas County Scholarship Pageant is accepting applications for the upcoming pageant set for Oct. 24 at the Houston Area Chamber of Commerce Fairgrounds.

The pageant is open to any girl between the ages of 3-24. There will be Tiny, Little, Petite, PreTeen, Outstanding Teen and Miss divisions.

New to the pageant this year is a Tiny Mr. Texas County ages 3-4, Little Mr. Texas County ages 5-6 and Mr. Texas County ages 7-9. Additionally, there will be a Mrs. Texas County ages 18 and up, married, with or without children, and must be a resident of Texas County. The little boys and Mrs. title is a fundraiser only. Those titles will not compete further. They are a fundraiser for the scholarship program. The Mrs. title is to be a mentor to the youth.

Persons can go online at www.misstexascountypageant.com for the applications, or they may be picked up at D & L Florist in Houston. The Miss Texas County Scholarship Pageant is a preliminary to the Miss Missouri/Miss America pageant, which is the world’s leading scholarship pageant. 

The Miss Texas County Pageant has given out more than $18,000 over the last 14 years. Miss Texas County, Riley Bradley, won non-finalist swimwear and talent in the Sigma category at state competition in June. Miss Texas County’s Outstanding Teen Madison Horner also made the top 10 in competition and also won the Children’s Miracle Maker Award.
