DeElda Marion Portrey Lipscomb, 88, passed away Monday, Sept. 14, 2015, at Ashland Healthcare Facility.
She was born Feb. 15, 1927, in Las Animas, Colo., daughter of Frank and Clellian Bishop Portrey.
She graduated from Cabool High School. She worked at Texas County Memorial Hospital and Houston House as an LPN.
She was a member of Ozark Baptist Church.
She loved to cook and bake. Many people were the recipient of her cinnamon rolls. She was a seamstress and DeElda made many of her children’s clothes while they were young. She also loved to quilt.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Karla; a daughter, Janet Toelar; and a brother, Lester Portrey.
Survivors include three children, Vickie Gabelsberger of Columbia, Roy Lipscomb of Ashland and Eddie Lipscomb of West Plains; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter, two sisters, Lois Nelson of Springfield and Isabel Hess of St. Charles; and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services are 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, in Ozark Baptist Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
