Flags will fly at half-staff Thursday in observance of Sept. 11, 2001.

In accordance with state law, the United States and Missouri flags at all government buildings statewide will be flown at half-staff today to honor those who died in the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.

“The events of Sept. 11, 2001, changed our world in many ways,” Gov. Jay Nixon said. “I ask Missourians to take time on Friday to remember those who lost their lives on that day, and to honor those in uniform who willingly put themselves in harm’s way on our behalf.”
