A glance at the Week 4 matchup between Houston (2-1) and Cabool (0-3):

ABOUT THIS WEEK’S OPPONENT: Cabool fell to 0-3 with a 39-25 loss last week to Willow Springs. …The Bulldogs are the only winless team in the South Central Association. …Quarterback Tanner Barnes has completed 14 of his 32 pass attempts for 210 yards through three games. He has one touchdown and six interceptions. He was picked off three times in Friday’s loss to Willow Springs. …Caleb Manning is the Bulldogs’ top running back with 48 carries for 145 yards and two scores. Barnes has carried the ball 33 times for 112 yards. A.J. Bryant leads the team with 152 yards on 23 rushes with two scores. …Bryant leads the team with five receptions for 94 yards. …Defensively, Tray Wiggs has a team-leading 33 tackles, including four for losses. That total nearly doubles the second-leading tackler, Logan Miller, who has 17 tackles.

TIGER TIDBITS: Friday’s game is a homecoming for HHS head coach Eric Sloan and assistants Vince McCrosky and Ken Cooperman. Both Sloan and McCrosky were head coaches at Cabool. It’s also a return for junior running back Chance Hunter, who transferred from Cabool to Houston. …With one-third of the regular season completed, the Tigers are second in the Class 2 District 3 standings. Liberty is first with 49.66 points, followed by Houston (44.34), Diamond (44.17), Fair Grove (39.33), Ash Grove (30.67), Willow Springs (29), Strafford (27.33) and Pleasant Hope (14). …The Tigers are 2-2 in their last four matchups with Cabool. Houston won 40-36 in 2013 and 6-0 in 2012. The Bulldogs were victorious 20-7 last season and 21-6 in 2011.

MORE TIGERS: Houston played Salem without senior Matt Wheeler, a two-way starter on the offensive and defensive lines. Wheeler missed the game with a lingering shoulder injury. Sloan said he is unsure of Wheeler’s status for the Cabool game. …Six of Houston’s nine opponents in 2015 have started the season with 2-1 records or better. Hollister, Salem, Thayer and Ava are all 2-1 while Mountain Grove and Liberty are both 3-0.
