Glen Dale Edgar, 78, passed away Saturday, Sept. 26, 2014, in Springfield.
He was born Nov. 14, 1936, in Eminence, son of Eldon and Ruth Banks Edgar. He and Pearl Dona Bunch Edgar were married May 14, 1960.
He and his wife, Pearl, attended First Baptist Church in Eminence, until his health failed. He was active in the Eminence Senior Center and participated in the delivery of meals to the local elderly.
He served in the Army military branch as a Private First Class from 1960-’62 and was stationed at Fort Richardson, Site Summit, Anchorage, Alaska.
He enjoyed finding coins, fishing, hunting, traveling, site seeing, collecting King Cutter tools and visiting with friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Bill Edgar; a sister, Thelma Shelton; a stepmother, Deloris Edgar; a half-brother, David Edgar; and a half-sister, Darlene Tucker.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Pearl Edgar; two daughters, Malynda Brooks and Melyssa Tune; three grandchildren; a brother, Junior Edgar; a half-brother, Ron Edgar; and a host of other family members and friends.
Services are Wednesday, Sept. 30, at Bradford Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Melvin Williams officiating. Burial will be in New Eminence Cemetery.
