Two popular gospel groups will appear at 7 p.m. Saturday at Ozark Baptist Church east of Houston.
The Harmoniers, originally organized in 1948 with performances since that time across the Ozarks, will sing. The quartet had a weekly radio program for many years on KBTC in Houston and Mountain Grove’s KLRS, as well as appearances on KYTV in Springfield.
The group reorganized in 2008 with two of the original members and others joined them.
The quartet, which performs on a limited schedule, retains the true Southern gospel sound. This year they are celebrating 67 years of sharing the Gospel in song.
Members are Sandy Stow, Duane Sutton, Wilburn Elmore, Omer Edington and Dave Gourley at the piano.
Marty and Patti Elmore of West Plains also will sing. They have been writing, singing and recording for about 27 years. Marty Elmore is the son of Wilburn Elmore.
The Elmores also draw upon other writers and the great hymns of church in their musical presentation, which is strongly influenced by southern Gospel. Their concerts include the use of both custom soundtracks and piano, guitar and bass guitar.

The church will serve hot dogs and marshmallows at 6 p.m.
