Some Houston residents and businesses were without power Sunday night.

About a quarter of Houston was without power for about five to six hours on Sunday night because of a mechanical issue at an electrical substation.

Power came on at about 10 p.m. after power was rerouted around a device at the substation, said City Administrator Larry Sutton.

The areas affected were generally south of U.S. 63 and West Highway 17
