Texas County’s unemployment rate dropped a half of a percentage point in August from the previous month, the Missouri Department of Economic Development reported.
The figure was 7.3 percent.
The agency said the civilian work force in the county stood at 9,142, which was down 249 from the prior month. Unemployed stood at 665.
Area counties and their unemployment rates were: Douglas, 9.1; Howell, 6.7; Shannon, 7.4; and Wright, 6.7. The average in south-central Missouri was 7 percent.
