A two-vehicle crash in southeast Texas County injured one person.

A driver fled the scene of a motor vehicle accident Saturday night in southeast Texas County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

Tpr. Marty Wiseman said an unknown westbound 2002 Ford Explorer failed to yield to a southbound 2004 Jeep Wrangler driven by Peggy S. Roland, 41, of Mountain View, and struck it in the left rear.

A passenger, Debra A. Summers, 43, of Mountain View, had moderate injuries and was taken to Mercy Hospital in Mountain View by ambulance. She was not wearing a seat belt, Wiseman said.

The accident occurred on Arroll Drive at Highway W at Arroll. Three other troopers assisted.

Authorities said Sunday night that Monty D. Hayes, 44, of Houston, was arrested in connection with leaving the scene of the motor vehicle accident, as well as an outstanding warrant charging him with failure to appear on a seat belt violation. He was taken to the Texas County Jail and held on $200,000 bond.

Both vehicles had moderate damage.
