Houston police handled several investigations during the last week.

The following are excerpts from reports generated by the Houston Police Department:

•Tyler J. Smith, 20, of 5082 Highway 137 at Yukon, was issued a citation for possession of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop on Phelps Street at about 12:05 a.m. Nov. 8.

An officer made the stop after observing a car traveling with no license plates. The officer saw the driver place something in a pocket inside the vehicle, and consent to search it was asked for and received. A smoking device was then found.

•Danny C. Richards II was cited Nov. 7 for failure to register a motor vehicle.

•Mike E. Hoth, 29, of 147 S. Oak Crest St. in Houston, was issued citations for driving while intoxicated and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway after a traffic stop on Walnut Street at about 12:20 a.m. Oct. 31.

An officer made the stop after observing a blue Chevrolet Silverado traveling on the wrong side of the roadway. After making contact with the driver, the officer smelled alcohol and field sobriety tests were conducted.

Hoth was taken to the Texas County Jail for a six-hour hold.

•Michael B. Housley, 25, of 102 Ashley Lane in Houston, was issued citations for driving with a suspended license and possession of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop on Cleveland Road at about 2:15 a.m. Nov. 7.

An officer made the stop after observing a gray Nissan Pathfinder traveling with expired tabs. After making contact with the driver, the officer smelled marijuana and Housley stated there was a smoking device in the vehicle.

The device was seized as evidence and Housely was taken to the Texas County Jail, where he was fingerprinted and released.

•Amy D. Spink, 34, of 522 Pine St. in Cabool, was issued a citation for stealing under $500 after allegedly swiping a lighter from the Murphy Oil gas station on U.S. 63 at about 2:30 p.m. Nov. 5. A representative of the business told an investigating officer Spink had been seen stealing lighters multiple times in the past and this time charges were to be pursued.

•David W. Barton, 33, of 12513 Bell Road at Roby, was arrested on Nov. 5 for having an active Texas County felony warrant for unlawful possession of a firearm.

An officer made the arrest at Walmart after being advised Barton was there. He was taken to the Texas County Jail where he was unable to post $150,000 bond.
