Hunters killed 143 turkeys in the fall firearms turkey season, the Missouri Department of Conservation said. 

Hunters checked 6,158 turkeys during Missouri’s fall firearms turkey season, according to the Missouri Department of Conversation.

The number increased from last year’s mark of 5,680. Dent County topped the state with 210 turkeys harvested, followed by Greene (159) and Franklin (148). Texas County just missed the top three at 143.

Fall archery turkey hunting continues until Nov. 13 and resumes from Nov. 25 through Jan. 15.
