Linda Sue Taylor Lawler Garrett, 70, of Mountain Grove, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2015, in her home after a long battle with lung cancer.
She was born Sept. 22, 1945, in West Helena, Ark., daughter of David O, Taylor and Lois Hopper Taylor Portrey. She and Jimmie Lawler were married in 1964. She later married Lonnie Garrett in 1983.
She attended Houston Schools and graduated in 1964. While here husband, Jimmie, was in the Air Force, they were stationed in Lubbock, Texas, Laredo, Texas, and Panama City, Fla.
After marrying Lonnie, they lived on Garrett’s Dairy Farm in Big Piney.
She loved going to the ocean, swimming, playing bingo, playing cards, and watching NASCAR races. Her favorite driver was Jimmie Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather, Lester Portrey; and two brothers, Jim Taylor and Don Taylor.
Survivors include the love of her life, Jimmie Lawler of the home, four daughters, Sheri Johnson, Michelle McCoy and Ashley Garrett of Mountain Grove and Lonette Nickell of Florissant, Colo.; 1 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Betty Wyatt of Mountain Grove, Beverly Jones of Fordland and Susie Clariday of Pensacola, Fla.; a brother, Billy Taylor of Cullman, Alab.; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
No services are planned at this time. Cremation was under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
