Texas County deputies recently handled several investigations.

The following are excerpts from reports generated by the Houston Police Department:

•Jay A. Gann, 39, of 13299 Craddock Drive in Licking, was issued citations for driving while intoxicated and driving while revoked after a traffic stop in a parking lot of a U.S. 63 business at about 9 p.m. Nov. 11.

A Texas County Sheriff’s Department deputy made the stop of a green Ford flatbed truck suspected of possibly containing items swiped from Walmart.

A police officer arrived just after the deputy made the stop, and smelled alcohol after making contact with the driver. Field sobriety tests were conducted and Gann was taken to the Texas County Jail for a six-hour hold period.

A passenger in the vehicle was cited for minor in possession of alcohol by consumption: Drew A. Mefford, 19, of Macon. A search of the truck revealed several stolen items, and Mefford was also cited for stealing under $500. He was taken to jail, too.

•Kenneth D. Romine, 46, of 15342 Highway AA in Bucyrus, was ticketed for following too closely after a two-car accident at U.S. 63 and Holder Drive at about 4 p.m. Nov. 9.

•Victoria L. Hemme, 42, of 1006B Parkway Ave. in Cabool, was ticketed for following too closely after a two-car accident at Highway 17 and Thomasville Road at about 12:45 p.m. Nov. 9.

•David K. Hogue, 33, of 7444 Highway 17 in Houston, was issued citations for driving while intoxicated, failure to drive on the right side of the roadway and driving while revoked after an officer observed a stop sign wrapped around the front of a green Nissan pickup that was lying on its side in a culvert on U.S. 63 at about 12:50 a.m. Nov. 6.

The sign had reportedly been at U.S. 63 and Grand Avenue before the truck crashed through it. Field sobriety tests were conducted and Hogue was taken to the Texas County Jail.
