She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Sam Wilson of Houston, Mo.; her father, Wayne Hubbs of Houston, Mo., two sisters, Renae Knapp and husband, Mike, of Cabool, Mo., and Ranell Wilson of Houston, Mo.; mother-in-law, Louise Wilson of Houston, Mo.; sister-in-law, Denise Banks and husband, John, of Atwater, Calif.; six nephews, Curtis Hubbs and wife, Gina, of Houston, Mo., Kevin Reed and wife, Alison, of Houston, Mo., Matt Knapp and wife, Jennifer, of Willow Springs, Mo., Derek Wilson and wife, Alicia, of Raymondville, Mo., Dalton Wilson of Springfield, Mo., and A.J. Banks of Atwater, Calif.; one niece, Rachael Banks of Atwater, Calif.; eight great nieces and nephews; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Robbin was a member of the Houston Church of Christ. She was baptized in her early teens and rededicated her life while in the hospital.
She lived the majority of her life in Houston, Mo., graduating from Houston High School in 1980. She excelled in art and was offered a scholarship by Hallmark, but turned it down. In 1978 ,she was in the Miss Missouri Pageant in Columbia, Mo., where she was awarded Miss Congeniality.
She was united in marriage to Sammy Wilson on Dec. 31, 1992.
Robbin worked many different jobs, but was probably the most proud of her years with the Texas County Sheriff’s Department as the deputy clerk. In 1982, she along with her mother and two sisters opened the business of Hubbs Tax Service, which was in business until the office was sold in 2012.
Robbin loved working in her yard, creating rock walk ways, planting flowers and decorating with frogs. She enjoyed flower arranging and helped on weddings and memorial flowers for family and friends. Her favorite gifts to give were the ones she made.
Robbin also had a love for her two furry friends, her yorkies, Ellie May and Mollie. She loved all of God’s creations and would name any animal that regularly visited her yard.
Robbin was well known for her smile and contagious laugh. She never met a stranger and in her twenty-seven days spent in the hospital she knew everything about her nurses and they flocked to her room just to visit. She will be missed by all that was fortunate enough to have shared time with her. Our earthly loss is heavens gain.
Services are 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 20, at Evans Funeral Home with Allen Bailey officiating. Burial followed in Pine Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Curtis Hubbs, Kevin Reed, Matt Knapp, Derek Wilson, Dalton Wilson, Kaleb Poynter and Nathan Poynter.
The family respectfully suggests that donations be made to the Robbin Wilson Memorial Fund, in lieu of flowers. Online condolences may be made at www.evansfh.com.
