The Texas County Soil and Water Conservation District will hold a board of supervisors election next year.
Nominations are sought for landowners who would like to serve. Those on the ballot are Area I – Roubidoux, Upton, Morris and Piney townships; and Area III, Jackson, Current, Ozark, Carroll, Pierce and Date.
Required qualifications are: land representative from district, residing in or owning a farm in the territory nominated; being a cooperator of the district, defined as “a person who is actively engaged in farming and practices conservation activities related to agriculture”; and being a taxpaying citizen of the county for at least two years.
