Wilbern Leon Robbins, 83, passed away Friday, Oct. 30, 2015.
He was born May 19, 1932, in rural Phelps County, son of George and Mayme Alvey Robbins. He and Janice Gann were married Sept. 7, 1989. She passed away March 25, 2014.
He farmed most of his life. He worked for the sanitation department at Fort Leonard Wood as a young man. He farmed at home for some years and then became employed with the Phelps County Highway Department, where he drove truck and operated heavy equipment.
He was an avid hunter and looked forward to deer season with great anticipation. He also loved to coon hunt and fish.
After retiring from the highway department, he and his wife, Janice, were able to hunt and fish until their health hindered them.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Janice; six brothers, Doyle, George Leo, Larry, Tom, Jim and Orval Wayne; and a sister, Maxcine Strom.
Survivors include four stepsons, Danny Richardson, Gary Richardson, Larry Richardson and Joe Richardson; three brothers, Libern “Cord,” Walter and Darrell; two sisters, Wanda Baker and Verneal Ramsey; and a host of other family members and friends.
Services were Monday, Nov. 2, at Fox Funeral Home Chapel with George Robbins officiating. Burial was in Craddock Cemetery.
