The Houston Middle School boys’ basketball teams swept Salem at home Thursday night.

The eighth grade improved to 4-4 and 3-1 in the South Central Association with a 55-44 victory. The seventh grade won 38-17 for its second victory of the season.

Clayton Moore led the Houston eighth grade with 24 points. Kyle Ramsey scored 13 and Hunter Stilley added seven. Four other players – Isaiah Buse (four), Sterling Jackson (four), Dakota Burchett (two) and Elliot Clark (one) also scored.

“That was a big win,” Houston coach John Coussons said. “Salem was a big, physical team. Our entire team made huge contributions.”

Alex Castleman led the seventh grade team with 10 points as they improved to 2-6 and 2-2 in the SCA. Ty Franklin and Christian Cichon added six points apiece. Evan Fischer, Brayden Martin and Jacob Mosely each had four points.

Both teams are back in action Monday night at Cabool.
