Houston police are investigating several crimes in the city.

The following are excerpts from reports generated by the Houston Police Department:

•Candice D. Mitchell, 43, of 903 Dooley St. in Houston, was arrested Dec. 12 for having an active Texas County warrant for possession of a controlled substance. An officer aware of the warrant arrested Mitchell at her home and transported her to the Texas County Jail, where she was unable to post $150,000 bond.

•Two officers responded at about 9:40 p.m. Dec. 11 to a report of minors drinking on the Orscheln Farm and Home parking lot on South Sam Houston Blvd.

Upon arrival, the officers observed two vehicles fleeing the lot to the east. The officers pursued and stopped both.

After an investigation, two teens were issued citations for minor in possession of alcohol: Steven R. Logan, 18, of 13231 German Road at Bucyrus, and Tristan A. Cooper, 18, of 305 S. Second St. in Houston.

•Brandy R. Dewolfe, 38, of 17100 Tiffany Drive, Lot A, in Houston, was cited for stealing under $500 after allegedly shoplifting a bottle of whiskey from Walmart at about 9:30 p.m. Nov. 26.

•An officer responded to a report of a woman walking along Highway 17 at about 1:10 a.m. Dec. 1.

The officer made contact with the woman, 21, and she said she had been beaten and left at the side of the roadway by her 26-year-old boyfriend.

The woman was taken to the Texas County Jail after two deputies requested that she fill out statements. A computer check revealed she had an active Gainesville municipal warrant for failure to appear.

•Nichelle N. Taylor, 25, of 101 Ozark Terrace in Houston, was arrested Dec. 10 for having an active Pulaski County warrant for driving while revoked.
