Russell Allen Combs, the son of Everett W. Combs and Rosa Ellen (Tarleton) Combs, was born June 5, 1932, at Couch, Mo., and passed away at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Mo., on Thursday, Dec. 17, 2015.
Russell was united in marriage to Virginia Ann Goff to their union five children were born, Debra Lynn, Timothy Russell, Andrea Sue, James Ralph and Jeffrey Allen.
Russell served in the Eminence Masonic Lodge # 607, Lions Club, Eminence school board and coached pony league and little league ball.
He served for four years in the United States Navy.
Russell enjoyed fishing, quail and rabbit hunting, gardening, spoiling the grandkids and great-grandkids, attending sporting events for his children and grandchildren, woodworking and his unconditional love and care of his wife of 64 years.
Russell is preceded in death by his father, Everett; mother, Rosa; daughter, Debbie; son, Jeffrey; sisters, Leona Combs, Viola Combs Strain and Vesta Combs Sanders; and brothers, Davie Combs, Ralph Combs, Lawrence Combs and Clifford Combs.
Russell is survived by his children, Tim Combs and wife, Terri, Ann Combs Tottingham and husband, Don and James Combs; brother, Donald Combs and wife, Gay; grandchildren, Jeffrey Combs and wife, Ashley, Jeremy Combs and Crystal, Jennifer Smith and husband, Dustin, Jessica Gettys and husband, Jeff, Rachel Combs and Wilson, Michael Tottingham and wife, Jodie, Amber Tottingham, Ronnie Farmer and wife, Nicole, Amanda Newman and husband, Lucas; great-grandchildren, Gage Alan Smith, Jude Russell Smith, Alaina Nicole Combs, KyEshia Ann Bush, Trevor Bryan Coen, Gracie Tottingham, Mikaela Farmer, Jayden Newman and Madison Farmer.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 21, at the First Church in Eminence. Military honors and burial are 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 21, in Cotton Creek Cemetery near Alton, Mo., under the care of Bradford Funeral Home.
