A Houston woman will stand trial Jan. 4 in U.S. District Court in Springfield on charges she plotted to have a relative killed.
Leta F. Douglas, 52, was arrested in February after authorities alleged she arranged the $2,000 deal in the Houston Walmart Supercenter parking lot, federal officials said. Douglas, according to court documents, provided a picture of the relative, a hand-drawn map to a residence and described the house’s layout.
Douglas is to appear Tuesday for a pre-trial conference. She remains held without bond in Springfield.
