This float from entered by the Mark Twain National Forest and featuring Smokey Bear won the non-religious category of Saturday's parade.

Unseasonably warm weather greeted those attending Saturday’s Christmas parade in downtown Houston.

The event is sponsored by the Houston Area Chamber of Commerce and spearheaded by Mandy Adey.

Here is a list of winners from the chamber:

Grand prize float: Northside Baptist Church.

Religious float: first place, Holy Cross Lutheran Church.

Non-religious: first, Mark Twain National Forest, Smokey Bear; second, Houston Girl Scout Troop 70166; and third, Outhouse entry, Houston Community Betterment and Arts Council Y.O.U.T.H.; and honorable mention, Texas County Master Gardeners.

Tractors: first, Panzer garden tractor; second, Allis Chalmers with a bear; third, Allis Chalmers; and honorable mention, John Deere.

Vehicles: first, 1957 Missouri State Highway Patrol car; second, 1995 Chevrolet car; third, 1954 Chevrolet pickup; and honorable mention, Oldsmobile 442, Alan Branstetter.

Equestrian: first, miniature donkeys, Carol Dale; and second, Golden Hills stagecoach, Don Rutherford.
