A private memorial service will be held at a later date

Archie L. Tayloe, 81, passed away Sunday, Jan. 17, 2016.

He was born April 8, 1934, in Huggins, son of Clifford and Viola White Tayloe. He and Susan Anderson were married Oct. 8, 1955.

He left his home in Missouri on his 18th birthday and hitchhiked to California looking for a job. He worked on aircrafts then went to Iowa then Milwaukee, Wisc., where he worked for Continental Can Co for 32 years.

He and his wife, Susan, lived in Wisconsin before moving to Misssouri in 1993.

He enjoyed raising cattle, gardening, riding his tractor and cutting wood to keep the family warm. He loved his wood heat. He also enjoyed hunting, playing pool and cards and fishing on Lake Michigan.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Susan of the home; seven children, Eunice Peterson, Connie Turnbull, Bruce Tayloe, Randy Tayloe, Sharon Eggebeen, Timothy Tayloe and Terri Bradley; 16 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Florence Casady and Cecil Mae Hanson.
