Deputies recently handled investigations across the county.

The following are excerpts of reports generated by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department:

•A Mountain Grove man called at about 1 p.m. Jan. 24 to report a burned pick-up on Panther Creek Road.

An investigating officer observed a small extended cab truck near the roadway about 25 feet into the woods that was entirely burned inside and out. The license plate was registered to a Branson man.

Investigation of the case continues.

•A deputy responded at about 12:40 p.m. Jan. 23 to a report of a house on a dirt road near Douglas Steel in Mountain Grove that had kennels and blood all around it.

The officer was unable to locate a home matching the description. Mountain Grove police advised the deputy the man who had called in the report sounded like he was “on something.”

•A deputy was dispatched at about 11:45 p.m. Jan. 22 to help remove a man from the Crow Creek Bar off of Highway CC north of Licking. The man was contacted and left without incident.
