The Houston eighth-grade boys’ basketball team completed its season Thursday night with a 39-35 victory against Willow Springs.
Kyler Ramsey scored 14 points to lead the Tigers, who finished 9-6 and 6-1 in the South Central Association. Clayton Moore added nine points, Sterling Jackson scored seven and Dalton Dzurick and Dakota Burchett added five apiece.
The win avenged Houston’s two-point loss to Willow Springs the previous week.
“It was an emotional game. We made our free throws down the stretch to secure the victory,” Tigers coach John Coussons said. “The guys earned a hard fought-win to end our season on a positive note.”
SEVENTH GRADE: Ty Franklin scored 10 points in the seventh grade’s 34-26 loss Thursday to Willow Springs to conclude the season.
Evan Fischer-Koch and Daniel Hutcheson added six points apiece for Houston, which finished 2-13 and 2-5 in the SCA.
