Kobe Sutton scored 22 points and Keegan Spurlin added 13 in the Houston Tigers’ 61-47 road loss Friday at Cabool.

HHS fell behind 20-0 in its South Central Association opener. The Tigers (4-10, 0-1 SCA) outscored Cabool the rest of the way.

“We finally settled down and started to play,” HHS coach Robert James said. “Just dug too deep of a hole and couldn’t get enough stops to get it close.”

Last Tuesday, Nathan Poynter had a team-best 10 points in the Tigers’ 43-36 loss at Alton.

Houston trailed by one at the half.

“We played pretty decent defense,” said James, who missed the game while recovering from an automobile accident. “Turnovers in crucial stretches hurt us.”
