Authorities from several agencies were involved in a pursuit Saturday, Jan. 16.

The following are excerpts of reports generated by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department:

•Shad P. Jones, 24, of 700 Ozark St. in Houston, was issued citations for driving while intoxicated and possession of marijuana after deputies responded to a report of a vehicle parked in the middle of Brushy Creek Road at about 9 p.m. Jan. 16.

Upon arrival, officers observed a red Chevrolet Cavalier stopped in the middle of the road with its engine running. Contact was made with the driver – Jones – who appeared to be intoxicated. Field sobriety tests were conducted, and a bag of marijuana was found in his pocket. Jones was taken to the Texas County Jail for a 6-hour hold period.

•At about 10:45 p.m. Jan. 16, deputies assisted Wright County, Mountain Grove and Missouri State highway Patrol officers with a pursuit of a vehicle headed toward Texas County. The vehicle was wrecked on Welch Road, and officers engaged in foot pursuit. A man and a woman were finally apprehended and taken back to Welch Road in a TCSD patrol vehicle before transferred to Wright County vehicles.

•Thomas B. Lewis, 47, of 7800 U.S. 63 in Houston, was issued a citation for third-degree assault after allegedly hitting a 23-year-old woman in the face during an incident at his residence at about 2 a.m. Jan. 14.

A responding deputy was unable to locate Lewis at first, but he was eventually found under a mattress inside a camper trailer on the property.

•Bobbie M. Crawford, 34, of 229 Vollmar Drive in Raymondville, was arrested Jan. 13 for having an active Texas County warrant for failure to appear on a third-degree assault charge.

A deputy made the arrest at a Houston gas station, after pulling in to fuel a patrol vehicle and observing Crawford walk inside. She was taken to the Texas County Jail and held on $10,000 bond.

•A Licking man reported on Jan. 12 that a house he was watching on Hartville Road at Licking had been broken into and ransacked, and that several items with a total value of $520 had been stolen. There are no suspects.

•A deputy was dispatched at about 3 a.m. Jan. 9 regarding a report of a domestic dispute at a Split Limb Road residence at Raymondville.

A 27-year-old man who lives there told the officer a 22-year-old woman who also lives there had scratched his truck and bitten him. The woman told the officer the man was drunk and breaking many of her belongings.

Both people declined to pursue charges.

•A 55-year-old Bucyrus man came to the TCSD office Jan. 11 to report his 43-year-old estranged wife had stolen $1,000 from his business account and a 20-gauge shotgun.

The man said he didn’t want to pursue charges, but stated the woman had mental issues and he was concerned what she might do with the gun.

He also said the woman sent him a text indicating she had thrown the gun in a lagoon and he would “have to swim for it.” He also stated she may or may not have thrown the gun in a lagoon, and that she may or may not have gone back to Georgia.
