An Ellis Prairie man accused of killing his wife last month entered a not guilty plea last Tuesday and waived a preliminary hearing during a courtroom appearance.
Steve M. Sprous, 30, is accused first-degree murder of his wife, Courtney 23; four counts each of armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful possession of an illegal weapon and first-degree sodomy.
Circuit Judge Bill Hickle ordered Sprous to appear March 8 for a trial-setting in Texas County Circuit Court.
