Cleanup is underway on this property acquired by the City of Houston. A commuter parking lot is planned.

The city has acquired property that previously housed a metals recycling business at U.S. 63 and Highway F (Walnut Street).

Cleanup of the property has already begun at the tract owned by the Hurley family. The city plans to demolish a building that once housed a garage.

The property will be used as a commuter lot.

The acquisition completes a major cleanup of that portion of the community. Nearby, the Houston Visitors Center operates and walkers can use a trail along Brushy Creek.
