Several county and state offices will be on the ballot in 2016.

Filing for county and state offices closes Tuesday, March 29.

The primary is Aug. 2, and winners advance to November’s General Election.

Filing in the county clerk’s office are:

REPUBLICANS

John Casey, Houston, and Samuel L. “Sam” Kelley of Cabool, District 1 county commissioner; Doyle Heiney, Summersville, county commissioner, District 2; James Sigman, Cabool, sheriff; Debbie James, Solo, assessor; Lindsay Koch, Raymondville, recorder of deeds; Connie Thompson, Cabool, public administrator; Marie Lasater, Licking, coroner; Charles M. Manier, Houston, surveyor.

 DEMOCRATS

 Kris Neal, Houston, county clerk; Tammy Cantrell, Houston, collector-treasurer; and Thomas C. Whittaker, Cabool, coroner. 

Voters also will elect a state representative and state senator, as well as circuit judge.

OTHER FILINGS

Filing in Jefferson City are the incumbents Sen. Mike Cunningham, Rep. Robert Ross and Circuit Judge John Beger.  All are Republicans.
