Grass fires reported Sunday across county

It’s been another busy day for firefighters in Texas County.

Dry and windy conditions have sparked several grass fires Sunday in the county.

The latest occurred at about 4:30 p.m. when the Summersville Fire Department was called to Highway O near the McVicker’s Greenhouse. The Clear Springs Fire Department also was called.

About 1:40 p.m. the Houston Rural Fire Department was called to 8784 U.S. 63 where a grass fire was reported. The Licking Fire Department was also called to assist.
