The Houston Lady Tigers’ top player and retiring coach will represent the program Saturday in a regional all-star game.
Senior Sarah Kelley was among the players selected to participate in the 11th annual Grizzly All-Star Classic hosted by the Missouri State University-West Plains. HHS coach Brent Kell will coach one of the girls’ teams.
The girls’ game will get underway at 2 p.m., and the boys game will follow at 4. Both games will be played in the West Plains Civic Center arena. Three-point and slam dunk contests will take place between the games.
Players representing Alton, Fordland, Houston, Koshkonong, Thayer, West Plains, Willow Springs, Ava, Bakersfield, Mansfield, Naylor, Norwood, Cabool, Eminence, Hartville, Mtn. View, Mansfield, Winona, Rogersville, Mountain Grove, Salem, Seymour, Van Buren and Mammoth Spring, Ark., will take part.
Along with Kell, Norwood coach Shannon Crain will also coach the girls’ teams. Coaching the boys teams will be Rod Gorman of Logan-Rogersville and Mike Mallow of Willow Springs.
Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children age 12 and under.
