The following are excerpts of reports generated by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department:
•A 35-year-old Cedar Hill woman reported on March 27 that numerous items with a total value of $2,621 had been stolen from her mother-in-law’s vehicle while she was incarcerated in the Texas County Jail.
The woman told an investigating officer that when she got out of jail and went out to the car, she found the back window broken out and many things missing from inside. The woman stated her 37-year-old husband had swiped the goods.
A report was sent to the county prosecutor.
•A deputy was dispatched at about 1:10 a.m. March 27 regarding a 34-year-old man threatening suicide at a Highway 32 residence at Success.
The officer was advised that the man wanted law enforcement to shoot him and he was waiting outside. The officer convinced the man to come to the road with his hands up, and he was transported to a hospital for a 96-hour hold period.
•A deputy was dispatched at about 5:10 p.m. March 26 regarding a 45-year-old man threatening suicide at a Berry Lane residence at Houston.
The officer made contact with the man, who made several statements about wanting to hurt himself. He was taken to a hospital for a 96-hour hold period.
•A deputy was dispatched at about 9:50 p.m. March 26 regarding a report of two pit bulls that wouldn’t let a man out of his truck at his Highway 17 residence at Success.
The officer made contact with the man, 59, who stated the dogs belonged to a 30-year-old neighbor man and came to his property and trapped him in his pickup. The deputy attempted to make contact with the neighbor, but the dogs wouldn’t let him get out of his patrol vehicle.
Investigation of the case continues.
•A 56-year-old Cabool woman called March 27 to report that a neighbor’s dog had killed eight chickens at her Malberg Road property.
An investigating officer made contact with the woman and she said the dog belonged to someone living on Pleasant Drive. The officer went to Pleasant Drive and spoke to a couple of men, including the dog’s owner.
The dog was observed with blood all over its face. Its owner put it down.
•A 43-year-old Licking woman reported on March 25 that a Stihl chainsaw and weed eater with a total value of $1,140 had been stolen from her Highway N residence. There are no suspects.
•A deputy was dispatched at about 8:30 p.m. March 26 after a man reported a prowler at his neighbor’s Rocky Top Road property.
The officer made contact with the man, who said he had called his neighbor and been told if the gate to the property was locked, it was family members who had been there. The officer determined the gate was locked.
•A 58-year-old Cabool man reported a burglary at his Beeler Road residence.
The man told an investigating officer that numerous items with a total value of $4,809 had been swiped from a pair of outbuildings at the property. There are no suspects.
•A 49-year-old Licking man came to the TCSD office March 23 and reported that his soon-to-be-former wife, 30, had broken into his Boone Creek Road residence and stolen several items with a total value of $515. The man stated she had also swiped his checkbook and written several unauthorized checks.
The case is being investigated.
•A 62-year-old Willow Springs woman reported on March 21 that numerous items with a total value of $2,295 had been stolen from her Ranch Road residence. There are no suspects.
