Numerous varieties of crops grow heartily at the community garden behind Mercy Clinic on U.S. 63 in Houston. Plots are now available in the garden.

Houston’s community garden is set for another year, and plots are being reserved.

The garden is behind the Mercy Clinic on U.S. 63 on land now owned by Mercy Health Services, and Mercy officials are allowing local University of Missouri Extension Master Gardeners to continue using the tract.

Plots can be reserved at the new MU Extension office in the Lone Star Annex on Main Street in downtown Houston. There is no fee, but a form must be filled out.

Texas County Master Gardeners will host their annual plant sale to raise funds for community garden expenses (including water) beginning at 7 a.m. Saturday, April 2, under the canopy at the Lone Star Plaza in downtown Houston. Organizers said a wide variety of plants will be offered at reasonable prices.
