Houston junior Abby Casper sped to a pair of victories in the Salem Invitational last week.
Casper ran the 100 meters in 12.64 seconds and the 200 in 27.59 to win both events.
Casper was also a member of the girls’ 4×100 relay team that finished third in 54.87. She was joined by Emily Shea, Melody Buse and Sevanna Rowland.
MacKenzie Reber finished third in the high jump with a leap of 4 feet, 6 inches.
The HHS girls finished ninth among 15 teams.
The boys had a pair of high relay finishes. The team of Noah Moseley, Justin Cox, Trenton Best and Caleb Adkison finished second in the 4×200 in 1:39.71 and third in the 4×100 in 47.94.
Best ran the 300 hurdles in 43.1 to place fourth.
The HHS boys finished 13th as a team.
Houston track coach Barry Wheeler said seven athletes achieved personal records in their events: Shelby Korte (1600), Alyssa Hayes (1600), Best (300 hurdles), Michael Clayton (100), CJ Lee (110 hurdles), Weston Phipps (1600) and Nathan Sawyer (1600 and 3200).
