Authorities haven’t released any details on what led to a man’s death Friday morning on a township road north of Houston.
One person was shot on Tiffany Drive, according to Texas County Sheriff James Sigman.
The man was taken to Texas County Memorial Hospital. Relatives nearby said the person was killed, but authorities had not confirmed that by Sunday. The incident occurred in the middle of the gravel roadway off Highway E. Family members — in front of the Texas County Justice Center — took to Springfield television cameras Friday to say their loved one had been gunned down.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol said Friday morning no arrests have been made.
Authorities on the scene were focusing their investigation around a GMC pickup in the middle of the gravel roadway. It was later towed away.
The incident is being investigated by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department with assistance from the patrol.
