Texas County’s unemployment rate in April was 5.8 percent, a drop of seven-tenths of a percentage point from the previous month, reports the Missouri Department of Economic Development.
In the south-central region, the average was 5.7 percent.
The county’s civilian work force was 9,641 with 559 unemployed.
Area counties and their unemployment rates were: Douglas, 5.8; Howell, 6.2; Shannon, 6.7; and Wright, 5.1.
