Texas County Farm Bureau has selected winners for its scholarship program from among county seniors.
Jared Luerssen of Cabool and Sierra Keller of Houston were awarded $500 each to be used for college. In addition, the organization said due to their character, grades and ambitions, Makayla Koch and Ashleigh Nye received $100 each.
Winners were selected from essays and interviews conducted with the seniors of Texas County high schools.
Farm Bureau said parents, as well as parents and faculty of schools, “deserve recognition and a thank you for their molding of these young people to become respectful, intelligent and involved Americans.”
