Police investigated the theft of a purse at Emmett Kelly Park during the last week.

The following are excerpts from reports generated by the Houston Police Department:

•A representative of Walmart contacted the HPD on April 19 to report that 11 empty video game cases had been found in the trash inside one of men’s restrooms.

The Walmart worker said surveillance video was reviewed that showed two men selecting games and then entering the restroom with them, and that when the left the restroom, the games could no longer be seen.

External store video allegedly showed the men leaving in a silver Dodge Caravan. Its license plate number was visible.

A 34-year-old Houston man and a 29-year-old Willow Springs man are suspects in an ongoing investigation.

•A Houston woman reported on May 7 that her daughter’s purse had been stolen from Emmett Kelly Park sometime between 2 and 2:45 p.m. that day.

The woman told an investigating officer her daughter had put the purse under slide and it was gone when they went to leave.

It reportedly contained a Nintendo unit and several games with a total value of $480. Surveillance video was reviewed, but the slide area was not in clear view.
