The Houston Farmers Market said a marketing campaign will result in additional vendors at today’s event at the Lone Star Plaza in downtown Houston.
Efforts to attract more vendors from the region have been successful. Among items expected Friday is baby kale, cauliflower, eggs and spinach. Frozen beef with no hormones or antibiotics will be sold, too, among other things.
The market operates Tuesday afternoons and Fridays mornings at First and Pine streets. It’s hoped that with more vendors that will translate into more people attending the market.
“It’s really important to have the support of customers to continue to grow the market,” a spokesman said.
