A large U.S. flag stretches across the street to greet people as they entered a park for a recent Intercounty Electric Cooperative meeting at Licking.

Members of Intercounty Electric Cooperative will hold their 80th annual membership meeting today at Licking’s city park.

Registration begins at 8 a.m. and closes at noon.

Activities kick off early with a Texas County Memorial Hospital health fair. The cost is $25. Many vendors will have booths. A breakfast — for those who had to fast — can be purchased at the refreshment building and is sponsored by the Licking Rural Fire Department.

Other activities:

•Craft fair — A large craft and business fair is planned.

•Kids tent — Register for bicycles A color contest for those 8 and under is set. Kids can have their picture taken with a lineman in a bucket truck.

•Prize drawings — The grand prize is $600 in electric credit. It is awarded at 9:45 a.m.

•Barbecue picnic lunch — It is served to all members and their guests at about 11:30 a.m.

•Business meeting: It will begin at 10 a.m. Several Intercounty officials will speak. Luke Holtschneider, rural and community development liaison with the Missouri Department of Economic Development is the speaker.

A nominating committee recommended incumbent directors James E. White, north district; Matthew A. Duncan, central district; and Richard H. Ichord III, south district, be re-elected.

Providing entertainment is the Harper family at 9 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. They are an award-winning bluegrass gospel group from Bunker.
