The Fine Arts Building on the campus of Houston R-1 Schools was vacated in 2008.

The fate of the Fine Arts Building on the Houston Schools campus could be decided Tuesday as the school board considers four bids.

Posted Friday on the district website, the agenda for the meeting lists four companies and their bids:

•Godi’s Excavating – $194,225.

•06EVN – $93,896.25 plus an additional $2,816.89 for a performance bond.

•Gator Industrial LLC – $90,000.

•Jared Smith Hauling & Excavating LLC – $98,500 that includes a $2,500 allowance for sidewalk replacement as needed.

In his notes to the board, Superintendent Scott Dill said all four met bid expectations before the May 31 deadline. He says he recommends Jared Smith Hauling or 06ENV and will elaborate at the meeting.

Smith, a 1997 HHS graduate, has assisted with several projects on campus, including demolition of the previous library on campus.
