A Houston woman is charged with assault following an incident southeast of the community.

A 27-year-old Licking man faces multiple charges after an incident Friday at the Slabtown River Access in northwest Texas County.

A 21-year-old woman came to the Texas County Sheriff’s Department and reported that the man broke her foot, bit her and held a gun to her head. An investigating officer determined the man had picked the woman up from work and taken her to the Big Piney River access, where the two ended up in a fight.

A probable cause statement was sent to the county prosecutor seeking felony charges against the man of armed criminal action, second-degree assault and felonious restraint. In the statement, the officer stated that the man allegedly choked the woman, and then when she fled, he  hit her in the head with an unknown object, causing her to lose consciousness.

When she came to, the man allegedly bit her three times, and struck her numerous times as she again attempted to escape, according to the statement.

The woman reached the vehicle the pair had arrived in and opened a door, but the man caused it to slam on her foot, breaking it, authorities said. Once the two both got into the vehicle, the man held a gun to her head and threatened to kill her, according to a report.

After a search involving multiple agencies, the man was found Saturday in a black Ford Mustang at Highways N and AT.

Two baggies containing methamphetamine were found inside a bag in the vehicle.

Another probable cause statement was sent to the county prosecutor seeking charges of unlawful possession of firearms, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
